5 inspirational mummas helping us celebrate International Womens Day

Exercise

This International Women's Day we want to celebrate some of our mummas who have truly inspirational stories and it's the perfect 5 minute read to enjoy over a coffee while bub is napping.

Because of the products we sell our business is naturally very women focused. We put all our efforts into making products which give mums and mums-to-be more comfort, more freedom, and more power over their style. Hearing from customers who love their new purchases is one of the best parts of the job, but we've recently found out that getting to know our customers individually is even better.

We did a call out to our Cadenshae mummas to share their inspirational stories - whether it was big achievements or everyday successes. We heard from so many mums and read such beautiful stories, and we're really delighted to share some of them with you in this blog.

For us, as a business devoted to women, there was no better way to celebrate International Women's Day 2017 than through the eyes of dedicated, passionate and resilient mums.

Ashley

Helping mums stay active during nursing is what we live for, and no one quite does it like Ashley. A full time firefighter who often has to jump into dangerous situations to keep the people of Oregon safe and first-time mumma to 9 month old baby Indy.

Ashley actively swam throughout her pregnancy and even did the swim portion of a team triathlon five weeks post-partum. Well done to Ashley and hats off to all the mummas out there who juggle work, babies, fitness and more - we think you’re tops.

Tamsin

Our next mumma dedicates her time to making women happier and more successful. Introducing Tamsin;

To us, there’s nothing more important than inspiring mums to live the best life they can. Tamsin does just that by helping women break down barriers to success and live their best lives through her inspirational blog @__howshedoesit__. By celebrating successful women, the blog has helped her, and many other new mums, find their purpose and navigate their way into motherhood.

You can check out Tamsin's website here.

Hannah

This mumma’s runners do not get a day off. Introducing Hannah;

Hannah has just recently completed the 102km Tarawera Ultra Marathon just nine months after giving birth to her baby boy. She wore her Fit2Feed Cadenshae Nursing Bra and was able to breastfeed her son as soon as she got to the finish line. Amazing work from Hannah, and big thumbs up to mummas doing even a fraction of this! The effort matters just as much as the distance

Megan

The next mumma we have to tell you about survived a traumatic birth and came out stronger. Introducing Megan;

She’s an amazing example of a mumma who refuses to give up or be deterred by difficult situations. During birth she lost two litres of blood and was taken to theatre to stop the bleeding. Megan was then told she may never be able to breastfeed, but she persisted in trying and eventually was able to breastfeed a week later. Good on you Megan - and to mumma’s everywhere who’ve had to fight through tough labours to meet their bubs.

Kate

Our next mumma beat the odds after surviving the fight of her life. Introducing Kate;

Diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 28, the front line police officer and fitness lover was just 2 months away from her wedding. She acted quickly and underwent a Mastectomy 6 weeks before the big day. During her treatment Kate was told her ovaries would be seriously damaged and that having children would no longer be an option. Incredibly, 3 years after she was diagnosed, Kate fell pregnant naturally and gave birth to her daughter, Lokki, in September 2012. Then, in November 2014, she gave birth to her son, Atli. Fast forward a few years and Kate enjoys exercising daily and spending as much time with her kids as possible. She’s also looking forward to using her degree in Sport Science to motivate and encourage others to exercise, stay healthy and above all know their body and be able to question if something is not right. ‘Because life is worth the fight!’ And we couldn’t agree more!

We're so inspired by these stories and all the mums we hear from. We know being a mum isn't easy but that's exactly what International Women's Day is about - coming together through all our imperfections and all our successes, all our joy and all our heartache. Always remember that whatever life is throwing at you...You Got This!

With tonnes of love from the Cadenshae team
