Cadenshae nursing sports bra medical endorsements from:
Julia Daly, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

I fully endorse Cadenshae's range of nursing activewear bras for breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be. Not only are they incredibly comfortable and provide excellent support, but they are underwire free and fit beautifully.

Mastitis, or inflammation of the breast, is a common condition in women who are breastfeeding. The incidence has been reported as 20% in the first six months after birth. Mastitis is an inflammation of the breast that can be caused by obstruction, infection and/or allergy. Early symptoms of mastitis will feel like the flu, with many women experiencing shivers and aches. Some mothers who do not have any early signs of a blocked duct may get mastitis out of the blue. The breast will be sore like it is with a blocked duct, only more painful. It is usually red, swollen and hot. The skin may be shiny and there may be red streaks. You may feel quite unwell.

One of the causes of mastitis is milk stasis, or restricted milk flow, which may be a result of too much pressure on a part of the breast that stops the milk flowing freely through the duct. If a breastfeeding woman wears a bra that doesn't fit well - thus placing consistent pressure on the breast tissue - this can lead to blocked ducts and potentially mastitis.

Underwired bras are best avoided especially in the early months of breastfeeding as they can put pressure on milk ducts, prevent sufficient drainage of milk, and increase the risk of blocked ducts and mastitis.

Cadenshae's nursing sports bras are extremely supportive, comfortable, and come in a wide range of sizes and styles to suit different shaped women, but most importantly, they fit well and do not have an under-wire, meaning less pressure is placed on the breast. This ultimately, helps to reduce the risk of blocked ducts and mastitis.

Cadenshae bras are my recommended choice for breastfeeding mothers worldwide.

Cadenshae maternity leggings and maternity shorts endorsements from:
Katy Street MHSc, PGDip (Musculoskeletal), Cert. MDT, BPhty.

As a mother, physiotherapist and director of Auckland Physiotherapy I highly recommend Cadenshae’s activewear.

The leggings and shorts are extremely comfortable and provide abdominal support both during pregnancy and after having a baby. I love that there is the option to pull them up over the belly for full support, or you can fold down the high waistband for lower abdominal control. We tried and tested the leggings and found that the compression over the belly provided proprioceptive feedback to help engage the abdominals, whilst being comfortable enough to wear for walking, pilates, yoga, running, to the gym, or just for playing with the kids. The bike shorts were great worn on their own or under a dress for additional belly support during pregnancy. They are also perfect under dresses in summer to allow you to lift up your dress and breastfeed without being limited to wearing dresses with buttons or zips.

As physiotherapists, one of our main aims is to empower our clients to raise their quality of movement to improve their quality of life. Regular movement is vastly important to support a healthy pregnancy and postpartum recovery. We love that Cadenshae’s leggings and shorts allow women to keep active while looking beautiful at the same time. The fabric is nice and thick so it’s flattering and never see-through!

Cadenshae nursing sports bra, maternity leggings maternity shorts endorsements from:
Dr. Caitlin Zietz, B.Sc., D.C.

As a healthcare practitioner with a primary focus in prenatal and postpartum care (and a new mom to Ty!), I fully endorse the complete collection of Cadenshae apparel. Their nursing bras, activewear, and leggings are supportive, comfortable, and stylish, truly serving a new mother’s ever-changing body.

Cadenshae’s activewear and easy-to-access nursing bras allow for women to optimize ideal nursing ergonomics by preventing poor posture during breastfeeding. This reduces upper back and neck strain caused by enlarged breasts and forward postures commonly experienced by new moms during this time. Furthermore, Cadenshae’s clothing prevents excessive hunching positions by offering unencumbered access, for simplified breastfeeding in public environments.

The Cadenshae leggings provide support for the biomechanical changes in pregnancy and postpartum. In pregnancy, their thick band helps brace a growing belly, minimizing the lower back pain affecting more than 80% of pregnant women worldwide. Postpartum, when folded in half, the abdominal band on the leggings acts as supplementary support for the SI joints as they regain their stability during postpartum recovery.

Cadenshae serves mothers and mothers-to-be of all shapes and sizes worldwide, and they’re my number one recommendation for apparel.

Yours in health,

Dr. Caitlin Zietz
